A vineyard <\/i><i>60+ years old with 90% Grenache grapes and 10% Viura grapes, <\/i><i>fermented in concrete.<\/i><\/h2>\n<p>A blend of Garnacha grapes with a small portion of Viura grapes from a 70 year old vineyard in the Iregua Valley. Yields of approximately 2400 kg of grapes per hectare. La Rad is located in one of the foothills of the western bank of the Iregua River, at an altitude of 670 meters, between the municipalities of Albelda de Iregua and Entrena, and with a marked Mediterranean character. It is a small vineyard over 60 years old, with clay soils and the presence of boulders in a goblet-trained vineyard (with a distance of 1.30 m x 1.30 m between vines). The grapes come from old Garnacha vines (which also include vines) and a small number of white Viura vines, planted several decades ago for their own consumption or to be used to acidify red wines. Vineyard size 0.57 ha. Manual selection of bunches, destemming without crushing, maceration and whole-cluster vatting. Controlled alcoholic fermentation (temp. 24\u00ba) in 50 hl tanks. Alcoholic fermentation in 500 liter barrels. Production limited to 1,450 bottles of the 2017 vintage. Bright cherry color of medium depth. On the nose, fresh aromas, sweet spices, undergrowth herbs and red fruits (cherries, strawberries and raspberries).
