PANORÁMICO

PANORÁMICO Caracuesta 2018

A magical vineyard of Grenache planted in 1930 at the gateway to the Cameros and the impressive Cameros and the impressive Bajenza rock.

On the southern border of the appellation of origin, on the course of the Iregua River and in the foothills of Islallana is this wise vineyard of 0.68 ha planted in 1930, known by the local elders as “Caracuesta”. The old “Garnachos” with their whimsical shapes and other native grape varieties, to a lesser extent, reflect the tradition and know-how of this vineyard under the care of Dionisio, a local winegrower who has been working this “Eden” for more than 70 years. Stony soils of red clay. Traditional viticulture to create a magnificent fruit capable of expressing this place in a glass. After cutting, it underwent partial destemming, 10% stemming. Fermentation was started with a foot of its own must and continued for 17 days with small daily pump-overs. Spontaneous malolactic fermentation. The wine remained in tank for a year until it was transferred to 4 French barrels of second wine and 2 French barrels of first wine. Production limited to 1,520 bottles of the 2018 vintage. Ruby red color, violet rim. Very intense nose with notes of crunchy red fruit, aniseed, menthol and scrubland herbs. In the mouth it is fresh, tasty, long, full of crisp red fruit.
