As the local elders remember, the best vineyards of Islallana were located in the Sorzano area, where the most prized and valued grapes slept in the Tierroya area. Tierroya is the local way in which the locals knew this area for its “Red Earth”, characteristic of the clay-ferrous soils. Despite the virtues of this terroir, the industrial trend in Rioja viticulture did not exclude this jewel from being uprooted because of its low economic yield and low productive profitability. We were able to save this “vineyard on the verge of extinction” by working closely with the winegrower and by valuing the effort and virtues of this vineyard. After the grapes are harvested, they undergo a 24-hour skin maceration. Fermented in oak for 2 months and then aged for 4 months to create a powerful, fresh and surprising wine,

Straw color Powerful, complex, fresh nose, highlighting aromas of white fruit (pear, apple) and stone fruits intermixed with fine spicy and toasted oak notes. The palate is very fresh, with all the fruity notes that were present on the nose. It has an elegant acidity that will make it last for many years.
